anunande's review
"Many stories are also about beating the odds and proving doubters wrong, of creating something new or taking risks when going against the status quo, of being the underdog who achieves the seemingly impossible...And the beauty is in how these individual narratives of people from across the world, from across cultures, languages and times intersect and diverge. Kuper traces the trends in the world of football and crafts delicate threads of interconnectivity."

Profiles and interviews with players and coaches, from 1997-2010. Refreshing angles and few cliches. Because Kuper has Dutch roots, there is more than average attention to Dutch football. Which is probably why it appealed to me and made me give this book 4 i stead of 3 stars.
