I wanted to like this book so badly!! The premise was so interesting and the inclusion of the "syllabus" at the beginning of the book was a major draw. Unfortunately, finishing this book was a sheer test of will. I ended up not reducing this to a one-star review because I believe in lesbian solidarity.

-1 star for the lack of editing: Not sure if it was just me, but my edition was riddled with typos, random spaces where there shouldn't be spaces, and punctuation errors.

-0.5 star for the names: I am genuinely sorry but the main character being named Brinley pulled me out of the scenes entirely. Also, Grandma was the best character, but why did she have no name? There was one point where about 4 sentences (almost in a row) were essentially "Annalise's grandma did XYZ." Also the name of the app. IYKYK.

-0.5 star for Brinley's "chode toe" and how they kept bringing it up. Please, I'm begging. Put the toe away.

-0.5 star for Brinley praising Erica Lee's writing and saying she would recommend all of her books to anyone. Had to close the book out and do a double take. Yes, the author plugged her own books in this book. Brinley... I am going to have to politely disagree with you on this one.

The exact quote, if you're curious: "This is a good one to start with. Erica Lee is great. I would recommend every single one of her books to absolutely anybody." Brinley then goes on to say that the contents of one of Erica's books are stupid. Please. What is the truth.

-1 star for the writing in general. Personally, I really did not find this book funny at all. The writing was clunky at best and the MCs had no chemistry except that they're both apparently the sexiest women alive. The characters kept repeating the same phrases over and over (I am once again genuinely sorry BUT... it's the MCAT, not the "MCATs." You would think the author would realize this when she Googled average MCAT scores for prestigious medical schools in Pennsylvania so that she could relay this information to us. )

Total: 1.5 stars.

Erica Lee, I'm so sorry. I really wanted to like this book.

This book was a sweet and sexy delight from the first page until the last. Brinley and Annalise are two peas in a pod with Brinley proposing to teach Annalise everything she knows about pleasing women. But Annalise isn’t into women, or is she?  And she’s only doing this because her grandmother, yes, her grandmother has signed up Annalise on a site for hooking up called “The Lit Clit”.  I laughed and thoroughly enjoyed this story. The side characters were great, moving the story along. No games, no angst, no miscommunication and good consent. Just two cute adults following a sapphic sex syllabus. This book is a great way to kick off the summer and pride month!
