One of my favourite Agatha Christie’s - totally preposterous but excellent fun and with a really banging twist at the end.
Graphic: Gaslighting
Moderate: Murder
Minor: Death of parent

Just glad that the person Poirot was looking after the whole time didn’t get murdered. Idk if I missed it but what was the point of Sonia leaving that book behind? I need that loose end tied up or please someone remind me of the significance of that moment.

A classic Hercule Poirot mystery! I was entirely in the dark right up to the reveal.

Once again, I’m disappointed with a Christie novel. The problem was, for most of the book we don’t know if there actually is a murder to solve. So Poirot is just sitting around, hoping there actually is a murder.
Most of the book is spent with characters complaining about ‘kids these days’.
As I read more Christie novels, I’ve also come to realize that her characters are quite vapid. This book was no exception. No one really adds anything to the story.

3.5 stars. I guessed some parts, didn't guess others. Parts of the telling were a little slow (mainly while Poirot was laying out his thinking), but the twists were good, and story interesting. I found the self-aware, self-insert a fun element in Mrs. Oliver. Certainly not Christie's best, but a good story nonetheless.
