i thought this was a beautiful little story about a family of people who all feel torn between two countries :) there were parts that i thought felt a little plain, especially
once we have the karina reveal; we know she can write so show off!! flex the writer muscle

Haunting in it's realistic plot, this book tells the story of transnational family stuck in the liminality of being undocumented. For such a short book, it explores so many themes; the resilience of the stories of a colonized people, familial ties, patriotism and country loyalty, class, and race. Highly recommend.

i feel like if i wrote a book, this is what my writing style would be like
