A quick, heart-wrenching, but also lovely read about how immigration and borders make it so difficult for families to exist with one another. The switch in character POV threw me off and I think would have worked better if it was introduced earlier.

I feel like I should have loved this book, but it just didn’t work that well for me. I think it’s an important story and one that needs to be told, but it would have been so much more effective if the whole book was first person from the point of view of the siblings. The chapters told in this manner were the only ones I connected with.
