I mean, I finished it. It's not a bad way to kill time. I kept reading because I wanted closure, though that speaks to my compulsive need to know as much as it speaks to Swanson's writing. The voice was flat across character POVs. There's a layer of "men writing women"-style misogyny over everything that didn't feel like a deliberate feature; it was just distracting. The ending was abrupt and felt inconsistent with the rest of the story. Feels kind of flimsy, overall.

Peter Swanson is a dirty trickster...let me tell you! This man convinced me to root for the villain by the end of this book. I am shook that he wrote this character so well that they were so conniving that they quite literally could convince the reader that they were worth rooting for in the end.
I was not ready for how ridiculously twisty this story was going to be. I was shocked by some of the routes that Swanson took in his writing. He added somethings to this story that are risky and they worked...they worked extremely well.
You need to read this book. It's a thriller that you could easily binge in twenty-four hours. If I started this book on Saturday, you would my cheeks glued to chair with this book in my hand until I knew what the heck was going on. AND OH BOY, will the ending shake you.
This book is surprising by being twisty in all the best ways. I am currently in disbelief still that I unconsciously ended up rooting for the bad guy.
Guys, let's face it. It's really hard to review a thriller like "The Kind Worth Killing" without spoiling the magic behind it all. All I can really give you is vague details and convince you that your time with this story is worth it.
I will say...skip the audiobook. It's terrible. The narrators are so hard to listen to. The woman narrator pronounces her "w's" like Stewie Griffin in that one "Family Guy" episode..."Cool WH-ip" (IFYKYK) Just read this book. The narrators are wicked cringe. I can confirm the story will be more enjoyable without these nerds speaking into your ear holes.
I am very late to "The Kind Worth Killing Party," but if you're a mystery + thriller fan, you need to get this book on your radar ASAP!
Ps. Catch me going to Barnes & Noble on March 2nd to binge read "The Kind Worth Saving" in one night. It's happening. Just ya'll wait!
