I finished this book and still don’t fully understand why we care about the protagonist or anything about the world she lives in, what bonds even mean for society, who her enemies are and why we care about them. World building not there but lots of cursing and stream of consciousness in the present tense. I was annoyed mostly reading this.

Incredibly whiny, unlikeable characters and the women only care about their appearance and boys. The writing style was distractingly annoying. I wouldn't recommend this book.

This was painfully bad. No world-building, no character development (of which there were so many, I couldn't keep any of them straight), and the FMC just whined about the same stuff over and over and over again.

The bullying was way more abusive than I thought it was going to be, once I learned it was a bully romance. I didn’t mind most of it, but the constant “freaking” and “bitches” felt really juvenile. And the SA scene felt really gratuitous. We already knew the guy was an asshole, we didn’t need to go that far. It was a bit triggering for me. The end finally picks up when you learn about her gifts and they are cool, I just wish the whole book wasn’t “I ran away from my bonds (at 14) and now they hate me but I can’t share why”.

This was an interesting concept but the writing is absolutely atrocious. According to my kindle, this author says “fuck” 466 times and “freaking” 179 time in the 289 pages.  The dialogue is infuriating, 90% of the conversations consists of the characters saying how much they hate each other. The narration is like train of thought from the most annoying teenager trying to be cool.
…..However I will keep reading the series because I am invested now.

This book reads like one of those reality tv series on mtv; too much cursing, all drama and very little plot, but so entertaining that you keep wanting more.

Are we supposed to like these guys? What the fuck was that SA scene!? Are people high when reading this type of shit? Because at this point I don't know what to believe.

This book left me with mixed feelings. The dive into Oli's captured life after five years on the run was intriguing, but the lack of clarity on why she was targeted by "the resistance" left a gaping hole.

The world-building, especially the magic system, felt underexplained. How bonds are determined, why some have more than one, and the rationale behind hiding powers remained elusive. The foundation needed more depth for readers to fully immerse themselves.

The treatment Oli receives from the Draven brothers is harsh, leaving me wondering why some bonds are supportive while others aren't.

Ending on a cliffhanger, the book left me unsure about continuing the series. Despite the hype, "Broken Bonds" struggled to capture my attention, and the lack of information left me disappointed.
