This book made me cringe so much. I DNFed with only 100 pages left. I like the concept of the book but it just kept dragging on and nothing was happening. It was just a bunch of guys bullying the female MC. Also all the rape talk right away in the first couple pages threw me way off.

I enjoyed some of the characters (Gryphon, Sage, Atlas, mostly Oli), but Gabe, North, and especially Nox were vile. I must preface this as saying that I don’t normally read dark romance, so maybe you’d be fine with this, but there’s a lot of things that are big no-nos for me in fiction and naturally in real life too. I like some of the characters well enough that I’m possibly interested in reading more, but ultimately feel like something Nox did.

Trigger and spoiler warning****
Nox rapes Oli but I’m getting a vibe that they might just brush it off as “she wanted it because she came,” which is horrible. Idk if that’s a normal dark fantasy / dark romance thing, but it’s not cool to paint it as something she didn’t want, but it’s “not really rape” because she didn’t—and couldn’t—say no in the moment despite saying no many, many times throughout the course of the book.

Ultimately, I’m still trying to decide if I want to read on because Gryphon’s character especially was really wonderful, as was Atlas, but I’m just struggling with Nox a lot.

Yelling when I finished it, looking forward to the next one. Super into it, would only recommend to people specifically though.

TW: rape. I really hate how the author plays it off as its not rape.
The FMC character development is so good! I can't wait to see where this story goes!

This book is a good example of poly rep but filled with horrid misogyny. Every part of this book is just the main character shitting on women for being feminine or pretty or interested in men. The main character just is just screaming internalized misogyny all over the book. Honest to God I almost didn’t finish the book because it was so misogynistic. I finished it because I like the poly concept, but I really really think that the author
is a “not like other girls” girl and that’s really disappointing to me.  Like the concept that you can write about a poly relationship yet you can’t think that other women who are  feminine are not shitty for being so.
