I just adore this book and this series so much. I really hope the author continues with more stories in this world!!

I really adored Evanthia and her monster mates. And I think their romantic plot was woven expertly with the overall storyline that’s been developing in the previous two books and the novella. I enjoyed the addition of Arthurian mythology (not a spoiler, it’s mentioned up front!) and how side characters where woven in. Yes, Hazel and Esther showed up with their own special groups and seeing everyone finally together was so well worth it. The women definitely get their time to shine, and I think something I will always appreciate about these stories is the way the female characters are centered entirely and never side lined. They’re masters of their own stories, always.

This series is elite for me when it comes to why choose and monster romance. I end up thinking about these books long after I’ve finished them, and I know SWK will be no exception. This is a high spice level read, but I never once felt the scenes were gratuitous. The writing is like poetry and I cried each time Evanthia opened up and connected with one of her mates.

No words can accurately sum up how much I loved this book, and this series as a whole. If you’re on the fence or curious, definitely dig into these!! You won’t regret it.

Think the second book in the series is still my favorite but I still absolutely loveddd this and thought the ending was really well done!
I loved the characters in here and getting to see old characters show back up and get their own mini arcs toward the end especially
This book was darker than I expected/than the others were in the beginning, but it seemed to be done well and made sense for the storyline

My favorite in the whole series. The plot managed to be more interesting than in either of the preceding books; it almost felt epic. I loved our main character and I loved 3 out of 4 of her men. It sucked (for me) that the guy I did not like at all was also the one who was playing hard-to-get and got a lot of focus in the last quarter of the book. I was like. Give him up. You are already having amazing sex. I would say, also, that the issue of sexual assault was dealt with pretty conscientiously in this novel.
