Very bored of the vaguely regency and/or Victorian setting books take on, relying on your previous experience. If you wanted a supernatural bridgerton, I think you’ll like this! I liked the character of death.

I want to like Blythe so badly - her chapters were so much better than Signa's, so I'm really hoping that in book three she continues to be smart and determined and doesn't become reliant on Fate the way that Signa is fairly reliant on Death. I just can't get on board with that relationship and even though it was a much smaller part of this book, it still negatively impacted the entire story for me. The best parts of this series have the same vibes as the hundred thousand kingdoms and the familiar which are both perfect books in my opinion, and this really just made me want to reread them.

very solid sequel, can’t wait to see where it goes in wisteria. loved how blythe was in this she really took me through a roller coaster but i’m fully here for it. the only off putting part for me was the slower start ☹️
