I found the book slow to truly get started. I mean, you kind of know some stuff that’s going to be revealed but it’s never relevant until it happens. The good first half-60% of the book spans across 5 days, and during those five days, nothing overly interesting happens. There were probably 4 juicy bits leading up to the resolution, but even they weren’t as dramatic as I would have liked. It could just be me, as I like drama and big suspense, but if you’re one who likes that as well, this book may be slightly anti-climactic. I had my suspicions from the start, basing them off of how likely they were to actually want the victim dead or just how they acted to other characters before/after the character’s death, but I also rated them based on how likely they would be to kill the character based on what roles they would have played in other books. For example, they’re not suspicious enough/too suspicious, and how if a writer was writing solely for throwing readers for loops, what character would be chosen to be the killer so it’s a completely unsuspected surprise. I also highlighted small things that were pointed out obviously in the text after the murder that I thought might be relevant, and one of them was connected. That being said, I only started to catch on to what might be cooking very close to the reveal, and even once I did read it, it was still a big shock that made me think. That being said, the characters definitely learned from their pain. This book was well-crafted with an enticing plot, but was a little slow to get started. You just have to keep reading until you get to the good stuff, and then wait until you’re shocked. Kiley Roache will do the rest for you.

This definitely is one of the more accurate portrayals of teens and TikTok that I've come across. I enjoyed seeing someone who ~got it~ and the mystery was intriguing.
One small complaint: the way the teens talked vacillated between very grown and very immature, (which as teens, immaturity is a given) but the inconsistency was a bit jarring. I also found the replacement for curse words a bit out of place (I'm not sure if there were restrictions because this is YA) but if there can be themes of underage drinking and weed, I feel like they should be allowed to use adult curse words. Most teens do--it was a bit out of place for there to be a sudden heck or crap.

Entertaining and kept me invested throughout. Plus the nods to social media (namely TikTok) were pretty spot on. Although idk why Drake was brought into this. That part was awkward lol

I typically love thrillers, and I occasionally enjoy watching TikTok, so I figured this would be a good mix of the two. I was wrong. The characters were unlikeable (not just because they were murder suspects) and didn't show much growth. Parts of the plot seemed unrealistic and therefore unbelievable. I guessed the twist early on, which I don't necessarily mind, but that combined with the other problematic story elements made it hard to like this book. I will say that, even with the unlikable parts, this was a quick, easy read; I was able to get through it in just a few days.
