2.5 stars. The world-building was okay. The plot was weak, at best. The characters were okay, but Larken was too childish for my taste. I don’t mind a good YA fantasy if it was written well. This one was too boring for me.

I loved this book! Autumn’s Tithe is a magical, exciting read. Larken, the MC, has such amazing character development throughout the book. I appreciate how each side character is very three dimensional as well. All the characters in AT are unique and truly stand out, which is something really important to me as a reader. Larken is curvy as well, which is something you don’t often see in YA fantasy novels. And, (possibly mild spoiler) throughout the book we see Larken go from struggling with self doubt and with her body image to her fully embracing herself and the body she’s in. As a plus size person, this really resonated with me. While AT is set in a magical faery world, Larken remains beautifully human. The worldbuilding is done well, and there are many witty/funny moments that I loved. All in all, Autumn’s Tithe is a spectacular debut novel with an imaginative world and unique characters that you will absolutely fall in love with.

THIS BOOK WAS SO MUCH FUN!
If you love YA fantasy (especially involving fae) then you'll seriously fall in love with this book. I'm excited to see this book succeed because it deserves it. Hannah Parker does such a good job with the characters in this novel - bravo!
I ESPECIALLY loved the diversity in the cast of characters. The main girl is plus-sized and really embraces who she is and how she looks. It is so refreshing to have a curvy girl embraced for her beauty, inside and out. Read this book y'all! Can't wait for the next one :)
