Juliet Marillier is why I read fantasy. I came across her books in early 2008 at library in Washington DC. I’ve been hooked ever since.

Dance with Fate, like all of her books, is expertly researched, filled with historic and cultural references, and an absolutely captivating narrative. At the risk of being dramatic, I *needed* this book to get through 2020.

Again, this author can do no wrong in my opinion. I love the way she writes, it’s just so beautiful and listening as an audiobook really makes the words come alive.
Looking forward to reading to the final book on the trilogy.

I think this one is perhaps even better than the first of this trilogy. As always, the character development is an absolute joy to follow

There's some unnecessarily crappy language in here, and I'm unimpressed with the
Spoilerliterally magical healing of Dau's blindness
. So I didn't enjoy this as much as I wanted to.

Prompt #9: has a dedication

Another solid novel by Marillier. Having read her entire catalogue except for three titles, I would rank this somewhere in the middle. Which doesn’t devalue my enjoyment of this novel, Marillier just has some really awesome work out there.
