Following the tragic murder of his parents by a vampire, Lalo committed himself to researching these creatures, fueled by a desire for retribution. His investigation, however, yielded an unforeseen outcome when he himself underwent a transformation into a vampire. Despite this adversity, his research indicates a potential solution, offering a possibility for redemption. Meanwhile, Carolina emulates her grandfather and aspires to hunt vampires, mirroring his training and the legacy of the men in her family; however, her father prohibits it. Upon her grandfather's murder by vampires, she resolves to continue their pursuit. When Lalo and Carolina meet, sparks fly- but it turns out they want something mutually beneficial- the end of the vampires. While they agree to help each other out, can she keep his true identity hidden from her family and can he resist the temptation if her blood? Lots of hidden family secrets and foribben romance tropes in this story. I did feel it was a little short but enjoyed the banter between the two main characters.
