5/5. Fun new series!

4.5⭐

I wouldn't normally rate individual manga volumes but I don't think I'll continue this series so here we are. I think the concept here is an interesting one to bring into a manga. I like the premise this volume sets up and I think it could lead to an interesting story. However, things worked out just a bit too conveniently each time and the main characters intelligence was just a bit too convenient too. But my main gripe with this volume was I have never felt so beaten over the head as a reader by the message a manga is trying to portray and it really started to bug me. With the idea of 'show don't tell', this book really shows you and then tells you and then tells you again.

This like a retelling of Sherlock Homes and if you like mysteries then you are going to like this manga

As a Sherlock fan, I was really excited to read this! Honestly, I was very interested in seeing Moriarty's story and how he became the consulting criminal that we all love and hate.

In this story, Moriarty is viewed as a hero to the commoners. His goal in life is to take down the aristocrats that are treating the commoners like slaves or "cattle". William also has his group of family and friends that help him take down the evil that is corrupting the town. I liked Louis and Albert! It was a nice touch for the brothers to be part of the focus in this.

Also I don't want to sound mean, but I've never been more happy to see someone die. haha seriously! Those noblemen are AWFUL! The things that they've done to the helpless townsfolk that are just trying to live their lives. I can tell that this will be a common theme and I can't wait to see who they take on next!

Oh and I know Sherlock is coming soon! Eeeee I can't wait!

I enjoy the premise and would in theory like this more, but there's something about the execution and the result is I don't care about the characters very much.
