4/5 stars

I decided to pick this up after watching the anime, and it was pretty good! The manga and anime seem to have quite a few differences, and I actually am enjoying the manga more so far!

This series is rather dark, but I find the plot entertaining. The sibling bonds are a wholesome touch in a relatively twisted series. I'm looking forward to continuing with this series!

If you're into crime/mystery stories, you might want to check this out! It's definitely a darker story, so keep that in mind if you decide to read it!

Have had this volume for like 2 years and have only just read it now. I am really enjoying it so far. I love all of the characters, especially William and I am in love with the concept of this story and I love the reason behind the "crimes" they commit. I just have to mention that Will being a young professor is my favourite thing. I like seeing his little thoughts and I loved the three stories we got to see them helping in their new home of Durham. Anyways looking forward to reading the next one! At some point

This was a fun manga based on James Moriarty, the nemesis of Sherlock Holmes. I'm not as familiar with the original Sherlock stories from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle as I'd like to be, but this inspired me to dive back into that original world. The manga is broken down into three chapters, featuring Moriarty as a child, college professor and a self-proclaimed "Crime Consultant". I very much enjoyed the short epilogue about the Sherlock Holmes universe as well. The authors of this series are taking the characters in a fantastic direction and building upon the lore in an interesting way. I'll for sure be continuing on with this series!

I received an ebook of this title from the publisher, VIZ Media, via Netgalley; all opinions are my own.

I think it's alright... I haven't gotten that "OH SHIT, I'M HOOKED" feeling yet but it seems good so far! Maybe it'll pick up in the later volumes. I don't usually get into manga on the first volume anyways.

Things I'm curious about:
  • How they're going to progress with William's character.
  • Will Albert eventually regret
    killing his family
    after some time?
  • Will Albert's values change?
  • Why the heck do people ship William with Sebastian???
