I really loved this book, first read from this author, will be reading more definitely. Though I wish at the beginning it was stated that this book was part of a semi series
Once again, Kate Caterbury has delivered a love story that is sweet, complex, whitty, and full of funny moments. The Santillian crew never fails to deliver laughs. Mom and her special gummies, Ash trying to argue about things, Magnolia calling it like it is and taking everything over, and Linden suffering through it all.
Linden is a character I really wanted to know more about and come to find, he is much more complex than he seemed in the previous titles of the series. He has loved and lost. Embraced a life of a loner who fights against change. Until Jasper walks in, trying to take charge of her trainwreck of a life with a take no prisoners attitude. They each try to steamroll the other with limited success. I love how Linden goes all gruffy bear on Jasper, and though she tries to fight it tooth and nail, she can’t help but give in to Linden’s charm. There is steam, humor, excellent dialogue, and a plot that keeps moving until you reach the end. This is one of my favorite reads of the year.

The family meddling in this one kind of drive me up a wall. Definitely not as good as book 2 but I suppose better than the weird Puritan complex of book 1. I should have just read 2. At some point it just felt like a long repeating cycle of toast, walk in the woods, argue about nothing.
1. the book was great. I loved it.
2. the grumpy silent one who wants his space and doesn't talk to people much but immediately makes the woman a full part of his life and loves listening to her talk trope was *chef's kiss*
3. loved how the book pushed the "you can always start over, it is never too late, you're never too old" agenda. we, especially women, need that.
4. the slow relationship growth but also fast in the sense that they start acting like a married couple from day 3? amazing.
5. the one book where I get the point of the third act breakup. it served a purpose.

Bleh.
Got recommended this from a site for top cosy romance books but just wasn’t my thing.
Didn’t feel like the story ran smoothly and the way Linden was just a bloke was meh.
Also didn’t love the writing style.
Not much else to say about this book.
