Freakin' poetic!!!!

The writing... God... I missed reading work of this quality. It made me feel like I was in a field listening to artists talk about their loves. So refreshing.

Strong female lead. Check.
Overbearing dominant male. Check.

Ok, maybe not that overbearing. But definitely dominant. From the very first meeting, he was trying to be 'the man' in her life whether he realised it or not. He'd been so good with her aunt that he had no choice but to ensure she was safe... and happy.

The way they gradually eased into a relationship without realising it... so real. Before she knew it he was living rent free in her head, the way she was basically living rent free in his house. All through I'd been rooting for them... waiting... because I knew when they professed their love for each other... it would be epic.

LOVED IT.
EVEN IF JUST BECAUSE OF THE WRITING STYLE.
LOVED. IT.
slow-paced

I can't believe this is the same person that wrote In a Jam. This was so painfully boring.

Linden and Jasper were relatable and so cute. Kate is my palette cleanser. Her books are great to read in between dark or heavy books.

This book was described as a beauty and the beast rendition, I didn’t get that. What I did get from this book was plenty of humor, steam, and a whole bunch of fun. I loved the banter between Jasper and Linden all the back and forth. Linden’s family was awesome and hilarious. The premise of this book is funny- Jasper is a political PR person (she makes politicians look good) until an active mic outed what she really thought. As she’s hitting rock bottom, she moves to a run down house left to her by her aunt, who passed away. In between making the house livable, she meets Linden and sparks fly especially when she tries to feed him her terrible baked foods I laughed a lot at those descriptions because I can’t cook or bake well either. I really loved their relationship and the relationship between Linden and his family. This book is a fun, low angst romantic comedy.

*I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I was so excited picking up The Belle and the Beard. After all, Miss Canterbary writes a wonderful slow burn romance full of banter. I have to admit I am tad disappointed with this book.

I could not really connect with the characters. It is not about the sexual orientation, but more likely to with their interaction. The sex is hot. Of course. But I need more from the characters. More vulnerability. More tender, honest moment between them.

I still enjoy the story OK. Not loving it. Not hating it either.
