This fantasy guy is pretty much her therapist and can read her like a book. Very satisfying to watch him dismantle her insecurities. Audiobook features my favorite narrators.
Graphic: Emotional abuse, Suicide, Grief, Death of parent, Pregnancy, Fire/Fire injury
This book got so repetitive by the end. Almost all the conversations at the end had me going ‘didn’t they already have this conversation.’ So I was quite bored and really wanted to finish even though I was interested in the start. The characters also felt a bit weird to me. I still ended up liking linden.
The smut in this book was really good, really liked that aspect.

I love Linden and Jasper!
This is such a sweet book. Linden and Asher are a great couple who have to work hard to get their HEA, but they make it happen. The supporting characters are also fantastic. Minor quibble because it’s a pet peeve - y’all is a contraction for you all - you don’t say y’all to one person (or cat as the case may be). Read B it - you’ll enjoy it for sure!

I was hoping to like this one but I don’t like the FMC at all. Moving on.
I...loved this? Like, flat out loved it. The only reason it isn't five stars is because of the semi slow start, but once this hit its stride? What an absolute goddamn delight. Linden and Jasper's banter was next level and I am not entirely sure what sort of noise I made at "I don't hate you," only that it was not nearly as cute as this book was and then this book got to be way more than cute and Jasper's journey was as wonderful as anything I've read recently. Give me all not 20'something heroines rediscovering what they want out of their lives and getting to live their happily ever afters with a definitely not straight dude who just wants to make sure she doesn't burn down her house. God, I LOVED them. They took care of each other! And the progression of their relationship??? Agh. Agh! The way they settled into their routine and their space and—seriously, I'm going to make that ridiculous noise again. Plus, Linden was such a not-so secret dweeb? God, it's so endearing. With his trees and his Lord of the Rings love.
Because what more could you want out of a romance and romantic people? Nothing, except the GODDAMN FAMILY DYNAMIC OF THIS BOOK. Every one of Linden's interactions with his siblings made my heart soar. They were a mess and also full of banter and jibes and over-interference and it was so good. So often, siblings do not act like...real people in books. I just read a book where two grown adults kept referring to each other as "Cuz" and I wanted to claw my eyes out. Not the case here. The Santillian triplets were so, so, so good and I would read a whole book of them just ragging on each other at a baseball game.
Also, kudos to Kate (we're on a fist-name basis now, obvs) for knowing that the seats at Fenway are ancient torture devices. Brb, probably going to go read the rest of her books now.
