Texas Through Women's Eyes: The Twentieth-Century Experience by Harold L. Smith, Judith N. McArthur
faberallison's review against another edition
4.0
This a great textbook featuring Texas women throughout the twentieth century. After each chapter's informational essay, there are a list of recommended sources and primary sources discovered capturing the essence of the time period being discussed. The photographs featured help put a face to the writing and are wonderful additions to the text. Although the writing is a bit dry, that is not out of the ordinary for a textbook. Overall, this text is great for students of history, specifically Texas history, or gender studies students. Although geared for students, this book can be enjoyed by anyone with a love for gender history or Texas history.
