To say this story was complicated is an understatement. Hayden Holmes is any woman's dream guy. I would gladly take him, but sadly he is a fictional character. He is a sexy hockey player, but without the man whoring or cockiness that many athletes have in books. He really took the time to get to know Adalyn and fell hard for her. I found myself wanting to steal him from her because he was so genuine. Now Adalyn was a bit of a mess. She also fell hard for Hayden, but got scared multiple times. She is what made this story so complicated and I wanted to yell at her to get her sh*t together because Hayden was so amazing. This book was a long read, but I really enjoyed it. There was depth and complexity to the characters and now I want to go read the rest of the books in this series.

I really hated this book. The MFC was so annoying. And the MMC too good.
medium-paced
First half was SO good. I love Hayden. But then she gets pregnant, and not only does she decide not to tell him but she also strings along her friend. Adalyn kept complaining about how she couldn’t trust Hayden because what if he was traded again? First of all, he had no say in getting traded to the other side of the country. And secondly, girl, you’re the one that left! Adalyn was the one that didn’t even want to try to make it work. Hayden even asked her to move with him, BEFORE he knew she was pregnant. I demand he gets a new love interest. I was so done with her, so annoying

One Baby Daddy by Meghan Quinn
Romantic Comedy. 3rd in an interrelated series of standalones.
3.5 Stars
Meghan Quinn has spent the last couple of years at the very top of my favorite author list. Every single book (and there is a lot) was pure gold to me. Three Blind Dates, the first in the Dating by the Numbers Series was probably my favorite book ever by Meghan (see my review), and I absolutely loved the follow-ups Two Wedding Crashers (my review) and the spin-off novella Back in the Game (my review). So I was so excited to read One Baby Daddy! I loved Hayden Holmes, and couldn’t wait for his HEA. Unfortunately, for me, One Baby Daddy didn’t live up to the others in the series.
The events in this book actually start before Three Blind Dates, and I admit, I felt a little lost at first because I was confused about this until Hayden actually went to California and we got to see the scenes with Noely from Aiden’s POV (I loved that). When Hayden meets Adalyn through his friend Racer (Binghamton Series crossover) I loved it. I loved how confident and swoony he was. He knew Adalyn was his one.
"No doubt in my mind she’s someone you only come across once in a lifetime, and fuck if I’m not nervous to take that next step, to see if my gut reaction is right, that this girl is my game changer."
Hayden wants to make sure he does everything right. He wants to keep Adalyn for life, and jumping into bed isn't the way to do that.
I want the depth of trust and friendship I’ve seen in my parents’ marriage . . . How is that possible so soon? God, I want inside her, but I think I need inside her heart more than in her body.
Yes, I’m certifiable.
Completely.
Holy hell, the build-up and sexual tension! It was so good!
“You’re going to be waiting a long time, so saddle up and enjoy the slow burn, because the man is the master at it.”
But Adalyn may not be ready for the same commitment he was, even when she finds out she is pregnant! I thought Adalyn was so freaking selfish and hurt two really good men in her selfishness. While I liked the first half, once Adalyn showed who she really was, I just never thought she was good enough for Hayden. He deserved so much more than her, and she never fully redeemed herself in my eyes. Hayden did nothing but show that he would be an amazing husband and father, and he didn't deserve to be treated the way Adalyn treated him.
Likes:
- •Loved the crossovers to the Binghamton Series.
- •Meghan Quinn’s humor always gets me.
- •Sigh….Hayden. I love his restraint.
- •Seeing the scenes from Three Blind Dates from Hayden’s POV.
- •There was a lot of emotion. I was bawling my eyes out at one point.
Dislikes:
- •I was confused about the timeline at first, since it starts before Three Blind Dates.
- •I hated Adalyn and never got over it. In fact I hated her more and more as the book went on. Loving Meghan’s heroines are why I usually love her writing.
- •Meghan’s books are usually pretty flawless grammatically but I noticed quite a few errors.
- •The title gave away too much of the story!
- •Usually Meghan’s books surprise me, but I found this book to be very predictable.
The Down & Dirty:
My feelings for One Baby Daddy are mixed. I think there are a few reasons it wasn’t my favorite Meghan Quinn book, but the biggest was that it just felt like a typical surprise baby/hockey romance. There was nothing unique about it. Also, my expectations were very high. This had been my favorite series by one of my favorite authors, and it had a character I already loved. For me though, usually I need to love the heroine to love the book, and I never loved Adalyn. That being said, I still liked the book. There were parts I absolutely LOVED. But to me, One Baby Daddy almost seemed rushed to publication. It was just missing the unique quality that makes Meghan’s books so special. She is still absolutely a top favorite author, but you can’t love every book equally, and that’s OK, because I know some said this was their favorite of the series.
PS: I still bought a signed copy to complete my series set, and I do recommend reading it if you read the series and want to know what happened to Aiden.

This book went from being a solid 5 stars to a weak 3. Adalyn was just so fucking stubborn and mind numbingly stupid. And we are just supposed to roll with a maybe two-sentence explanation about the hangups about love? Her devolution made ZERO sense, esp after all the time she talked so much about finally seeing her own self-worth. They spent so much time building a foundation and all of that crumbled all too easily and it really did not make any sense. She just insisted on being blind and stupid.
1. She actually left him without communicating (he was also being a douche so I guess this is forgivable?)
2. She did not tell him she was pregnant, which is a HUGE no-no. You have to be a truly vicious or bitter type of bitch to do that, which wasn’t what her characterisation built her out to be so again, this was mindlessly stupid.
3. She let Logan do everything for her. How was she so blind to all his ickyness??? Again, not the headstrong, fierce, smart character she is made out to be in the few half of the book.
4. Choosing to move to LA and LET LOGAN LIVE WITH HER??? What the fuck??? I truly have no words at this point and I actually felt terrible for Hayden at this point because he really shouldn’t have to fight so hard for her when really, she was being the dumbest idiot on the planet.
5. Insisting, over and over, on keeping her distance from Hayden? The thing is, her background and personal history with men isn’t fleshed out nearly enough for all her supposed hangups to feel justified. We don’t even meet or hear from ANY of these men in her life in all this time!!! Men who, via their influence over her (which we know from passing remarks by Adalyn), are the reason she insists on being a dumb bitch.
6. (Not really an Adalyn rant but...) The car crash at the end was just wayyyyyyyy too over the top. Completely unnecessary and major eyeroll-worthy. At that point, I was barely skimming because I was so done with the ridiculousness of the book.
All in all, this book was truly disappointing. It started out SO WELL!!! I was truly excited to read and both of them had phenomenal chemistry and I made up my mind to give is 5 stars because it was making me so happy! And all of Adalyn’s idiotic, unnecessary, and ridiculous decisions just completely ruined the book for me. I don’t really know what to blame except bad writing? Or rather, lazy writing. It feels like the author stopped enjoying writing the book and just wanted to finish it off while also being so terribly uninspired that they just threw in whatever would remotely make sense (spoiler alert: none of it makes sense).

I just never liked Adalyn. She was so selfish and clearly blind about Logan.
Hayden’s personality was sort of all over the place, but overall he deserved more than Adalyn.

Cute, but predictable
I have read many of her books and loved them all. This one was cute, but just found it to be too predictable for my taste. I also disliked how wishy washy Adalyn was. It just wasn’t my cup of tea, but again someone else may love it. I’ll still read anything from this author.
