I enjoyed the overall story and I liked reading what parts were there. However, it's what isn't there that really drags this book down. Large portions of battles or strategies are cut out in favor of showing how the characters react to the aftermath of it all. It almost feels like Gaider had written all of these events, but later removed them to meet some sort of page limit. It's worth reading just to get the extra background on the setting and characters, but the wonky pacing can really put you off at times.

this book is amazing either as an introduction of the Dragon Age world to newcomers or a bit more lore for the people that have been following the game since origins but in my opinion it the fridging of it's female characters are it's biggest flaw.
