DNF. The concept seemed cool, but it turned out to be just a pretext for extreme fatphobia and disturbing descriptions of child rape. Also, the plot was incredibly slow, with like 5 pages of the narrator thinking about stuff (telling not showing the worldbuilding) before you could get one paragraph of things actually happening. Very disappointing as I was looking forward to a fun and quick read from a Cuban author.

A neat concept but ultimately pretty boring. I thought it would be funnier, I guess? Or more over the top? I dunno, probably would have liked it better as a short story. The ending was pretty good though.

Gratuitous for seemingly no reason, this book does have some interesting moments.

Clever and enjoyable take on the subject of "first contact".

At times this novel was laugh-out-loud funny.

Always enjoy universes populated with an unending variety of species, and Yoss does this especially well.

It is hard to find his works, but now that I see there are some on Scribd, I'll look into what's available.

Quite enjoyable sci-fi that's less raunchy than expected. There's some questionable opinions/beliefs expressed in this book but they're not integral to the story so while annoying, at least they don't actively impact the plot (which does lead me to ask why they were included at all but I digress). Overall, a fun and quick read that I'd recommend for anyone that likes weirder sci-fi.
