I knew one of the stories from this collection already - the Sussex vampire, but not the others, so again it was a delight to read mysteries that I had not yet heard the solution to. They lack a little something compared to the earlier stories, but perhaps it was not in Conan Doyle's heart to write them like he used to. Still enjoyable though to get to know a little more of Holmes and Watson and their working relationship.
