I couldn’t get past all of the misogyny and racist undertones. This book was very clearly written by a straight white man

I wish I could give half a star. If I give 5 stars, I believe everyone should read the book. And tehre really aren't many of those. 3 stars tend to be for "this was entertaining, not necessarily Great Literature" So, a lot of books that I think are excellent, but not for everybody, get 4 stars.

I will read this again. Leonard Cohen sang “There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in”

This book is cracked.

Gratuitous use of racial slurs is frankly not ideal. The general concept was super interesting, as well as the writing style, but the content definitely has some problematic elements. Taking these out wouldn't detract from the plot or the reader's ability to understand what's happening or why, so they really didn't need to be used in the first place. In my opinion, I think it says a lot about the author that these choices were made for apparently no reason.
