Did not hook me in the slightest bit. Writer Joe Casey is hit or miss for me.

Superb "re-telling" of one of Iron Man's oldest tales. I only use quotations because although this story obviously takes place in the past, there are some things going on that give it a more modern feel. This was distracting enough for me to give it a 4 rather than a perfect 5. Artwork is amazing, and at its best when the Scarecrow makes his appearance.

It was fine for an Iron Man comic. It was interesting to see another version of the Mandarin after reading Iron Man: Dragon Seed Saga, but Iron Man himself wasn't particularly interesting. I also was frustrated a number of times because the Mandarin was making legitimately good points about the failures of western society and Iron Man's retorts were just "but FREEDOM". I wanted to see how the story would resolve, but I'm not really interested in ever reading it again.
