Dopo un mese di letture mediocri e di attenzione scostante (avrei voluto cambiare libro da leggere ogni due giorni) finalmente ho trovato quello che mi ha catturata e si è fatto leggere tutto d'un fiato. Non mi aspettavo molto dalla Quinta Onda, viste anche le recensioni divise, c'è chi lo ha adorato e chi lo ha ritenuto un brutto libro. A me è piaciuto.
Prima di tutto mi è piaciuta la scrittura, perchè Yancey scrive bene, su questo non ho dubbi. Se una buona parte degli autori YA scrivesse così di sicuro apprezzerei molti più libri di questo genere. E Yancey ha scritto, bene, un libro interessante. Non è il massimo dell'originalità, ma d'altra parte cosa lo è? Una storia ben strutturata, credibile, con dei personaggi che ho adorato.
Non si prende le cinque stelline perchè, a ben pensarci, avrei potuto fare a meno della storia d'ammmmore così affrettata, e avrei gradito più Ben Parish al posto della suddetta storia d'ammmore.

This had me on the edge of my seat for the majority of the book. I was completely in love with the writing style and the characters. In my opinion this is one of the best post-apocalyptic books out there.

Okay, so it says Cassie is an average looking girl, but then an extremely good looking guy (Evan) loves her and she loves him. Then again after the explosion in the base it is shown that Ben maybe likes her too. I think not. Everyone here is sick but then better than Olympic athlete in running, shooting, archery.
