Wow I can see why all the girls have fallen for Rhysand. I am writing this review after having read the whole series and this is my favourite one. Firstly, I had no idea Rhysand was going to become a love interest (even when Feyre first went to the night court). I am sure there were little hints in the first novel - so I am keen for a reread of his scenes to see how it panned out. The ‘romance’ scenes were pretty intense too - given that this was my first spicy romantasy book, I am sure I will be proven wrong sooner or later.
I also enjoyed the scene where she was whisked away at the altar. I was intrigued by the development of Tamlin’s character and was genuinely surprised as I didn’t see it coming in the first book. But it’s not love, but possessiveness and assumed ownership of Feyre, especially when he thinks that he is saving her from Rhysand at the end of the book. And vice versa when it comes to Rhysand being painted as a mysterious villain.
The whole fantasy and saving the world part is interesting but with this book I think the love story really drew me in. Even if you weren’t keen on the first book, it’s worth going through it just for this.

Holy shit, if I could give this a million stars I would. I always think her books can't possibly get any better and then they just blow me out of the water every time! ❤️

This book was really good! The plot and pacing was pretty good, the characters were great and turned out to be pretty lovable, even the ones I didn’t like in the first book. I super loved Rhys , especially about halfway through the book. I hated Tamlin , but that was definitely to be expected, and I didn’t really like him in the first book anyways, so I was not surprised or disappointed.
The one thing I did not like was the fated mate thing, because it felt like it took away from the choice and consent of the romance, turning it into a magic thing instead of two people choosing each other. Also, kind of felt like the author used sex scenes as a crutch, as though they would replace actual romance building, which annoyed me. That is the only reason why this book got 4.75 instead of 5 ⭐️.
Definitely worth reading the first book (which is not nearly as good) in order to get to this one.
