Great book. Lots of twists and turns and the ending was unexpected.
LOVED the included novella.

I love a good heist book! One that involves Han Solo and Lando Calrissian is even better. I thought this book was very fun to read.
A fun SW side story set shortly after the Battle of Yavin. Han & Chewie assemble a crew for a heist. Not there usual gig, of course, but Han still has that price on his head. Think Ocean's Twelve takes on Black Sun. Such a story could be too cheesy for words, but Zahn is a good writer. He makes it work.
In the Star Wars Expanded Universe books... Timothy Zahn is THE author. In the Star Wars audiobooks, Mark Thompson is THE narrator. I've liked everything either of these two have done, more so when they work together. And then throw in the main character being my favorite of the Rebellion, and you had me interested.
That being said, this story was just kinda "eh" for me. I agree with other reviewers who say this was basically "Oceans Eleven" set in the Star Wars universe.
Set between "A New Hope" and "The Empire Strikes Back", Han gets approached by someone to help them steal back millions of credits that were taken from them. In exchange, he and any one he recruits would get a equal share of what was retrieved. Despite being a smuggler and not a robbery expert, Han takes the job because he still owes Jabba the Hutt a huge amount and wants to get that debt paid off. Of course nothing goes as planned, things are not what they seem and not everyone is who they say they are.
I don't know if the format of audiobook made it easier or harder to do this story. I did find it difficult to keep track of everyone involved (both "bad guys" and "good guys"). But I do love the fact that Mark Thompson does an amazing job of voicing Han and Lando, even Bobba Fett is pretty close to the original actor in the movies.
All in all, this was not one of the best Star Wars books I've read. But it is FAR from the worst.

A fun space adventure with familiar characters, very nostalgic feeling.
Han Solo > you.
Han Solo > you.
A heist story, set in the Star Wars EU with Han, Chewy, Lando and team. It was a cool story, and well written, but so far, my least favorite Star Wars story. Probably because of the lack of Jedi and Sith haha
This was fun! In high school I read 100 million Star Wars novels (approx) and then pretty much dropped them for several years, but Ashley told me this was like "Ocean's 11 but with Han and Lando" (which is what pretty much every review says. I think it might actually be on the book jacket. If not, it should be, because it's exactly like Ocean's 11 but with Han and Lando. I mean there are even 11 people involved with the plan.)
Anyway, like I said, it had been a few years since I read a Star Wars novel so it took me a little while to get back into the swing of it and I ended up skimming some descriptions of spaceships or whatever. Like, I get it, it's a spaceship. In space. Or whatever.
It was fun! If "Star Wars Ocean's 11" sounds fun to you, you will probably think this is a fun book! If "Star Wars Ocean's 11" does not sound fun to you, you are probably just lying to yourself.
