medium-paced

3.5

This is a box set. Overall rating 3,5. However the books are of varying quality so I will rate them separately as well.

Overall an okay story. Prequel and first 3 books in the box et should be read as one story as they continue right after each other. 4th book in the box set is after a time lapse so it can be read later and is setting up the next books.

There are some editing typos and inconsistencies in the plot.

The books:

You will bow: 4,5 stars
The best of the books. Started of great but fizzeled a bit out during the end. Seemed like the 'climax’ came too soon and then i became a bit repetative.

You will break: 2,5 stars
There is no reason why the characters acts like they do. It felt like drama needed to be added so they need to act like this. It was all over the place.

The worst thing however, was the dream/flashbacks. It felt as a cop out to explain things that could have been done by other means. It also came unexpectantly as part of the plot.

You will obey: 3 stars
Characters got a little more cohesive, but still felt erratic. I guess by now I had gotten used to it and just rolled with it.

There were inconsistencies in the plot which felt a sloppy from an editing point of view. They should have been caught.

Moreno forever: 4 stars
Since we jump in time for this, I could pretend that the characters mindset and actions has been reset/changed in the mean time so they didn't annoy me.

Some variety in wording could have been nice. There was one particular sentence that I groaned over every single time it came up again.
