This was a great balance of fun with some real depth behind the characters. Reese and Jason's dynamic was entertaining right off the bat with lots of well-written banter. The way Reese was attracted to Jason's mind through his writing was a nice way of showing their chemistry while they sniped at each other in person. Jason's service history and his prosthetic leg along with Reese's PTSD due to her father's death both fleshed out the characters just enough while not overshadowing the overall fun tone of the book. The transition from hate to like to love felt well-paced too. Also the parents' side story was a fun bonus too, so cute!!
Overall, I think this was a good place for me to start with CCJ. Excited to read more in this series and from this author in general!

I knew I wanted to try Christina C. Jones after seeing glowing reviews but was overwhelmed by her massive backlist. Once I heard that Getting Schooled was a contemporary romance set in academia, I knew it would be the perfect starting place. Reese is a graduate assistant and Jason is a non-traditional student, getting his degree after being discharged from the military. They decidedly do not hit it off at first and there’s some great snarky back and forth between them, but as they get to know each other, that initial spark of animosity changes into something more friendly, if no less incendiary. The plot lost some momentum for me towards the end as the conflict fizzled, but ten points for chemistry!
I love this book and the characters. Reese and Jay's communication is quite impressive. Ohhh! I loved the bar scene, lmaoo I think I read it 3times. This is a 3.5 for me.

Christina Jones has just gained a spot on my instant buy authors list!! Jason & Reese were the right kind of "dislike" to lovers with their flirty, teasy-ass selves! ;) The "will they, won't they" the back story for both from Reeses' grief of losing her dad to Jasons' acceptance and growth with his prosthetic.
I will say this now and never again but cheaters are bums & should get painful stds for the rest of their lives ( and the people they cheat with that know they are side pieces scummy tramps) f#cK Grayson & Olivia!!
Back to my faves Love Love LovE and cannot wait to read about the other brothers, definitely wish we had more interactions between the brothers but knowing there are 2 more books idm Also the whole their parents are dating is super odd if they marry Reese & Jason would become step-siblings
