Coś bardzo fajnego i luźnego. Wątek romantyczny, którego na początku się nie spodziewałam! Było kilka minusów, ale jeśli szukacie czegoś dla relaksu z humorem to polecam.

The Love Hypothesis is a brilliant, laugh out loud novel, that has an original and engaging plot and is so much fun to read.

Laura Steven is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors. Seriously don’t know how she does it. So good! I cried, I laughed, my heart ached. The build up wasn’t my favourite, I wish it was a bit more but I enjoyed it!

Thank you to @electricmonkeybooks for kindly sending me a copy of this! I loved it
.
My thoughts: I loved this read!! It was such a lovely, funny read about Caro trying to understand love. This book made me laugh out loud on many occasions and was just such a fun read . I LOVED and admired Caro so much and loved her friendship with Keiko and Gabriela. I saw so much of myself in Caro and related with her so much as a character. Another fav character was 'Vati' (one of Caro's HILARIOUS dads - honestly added so much to the book - you will see how funny he is when you read!!). Caro, for me, was just such a lighthearted character, a funny, loving and generous person all round, with so much strength. And I love that despite it being quite a lighthearted, funny read - it also discussed serious topics (I won't say what as it can give away!) but it was just such a lovely read tbh... The ending too, loved loved loved, so glad it ended the way it did!!

So, it's 5.30am and I just finished this MARVELOUS book! It's definitely one of my favorite books EVER. I love the character development, the humor, the writing style, the emotions I felt.... Oh god the emotions, I have to go further into that.

I've felt emotions in multiple ways.

The characters made me feel happy, sad, jealous, irritated, frustrated, angry and sappy. :')

Parts of this book, like Caro's revelations and thoughts on friendship really made me think about stuff going on in my own life concerning friendships. Also, the stuff about being unapologetically yourself and how the risk of losing people because of that is okay and part of life made me realize a lot of stuff about myself too.. And I'm 28!

There are so many quotes in this book that I found so helpful for myself, I hate that I forgot to write them down because I was so into reading. Hopefully I can find them on goodreads or google because I WANT THESE QUOTES ON STICKY NOTES AND STICK THEM TO MY BEDROOM WALL EVEN THOUGH I'M A GROWN WOMAN, I DON'T CAREEEE.

I'm a huge YA/NA fantasy fan and I'm really new to contemporary but my god, I'm really liking this genre. It doesn't happen all that often that I'm this excited and hyped after finishing a book.

Also, it's the book that made me achieve my 2020 reading challenge at last so YAY!!!! Couldn't wish for a more perfect book to end my challenge with!

I wish I could rate it 10 stars instead of 5, that's how much I love this book.

Laura Steven does things right. She manages to use a trope that's so overdone my eyes roll at the thought of it. I mean, who would write a book now and think "You know what this story needs? A love triangle" and actually pulls it off?
The bi rep in this is chef's kiss. It's amazing to be able to read about lgbt characters without having to see them suffer or without making the lgbt aspect the main focus of the story. It's just there. Deal with it. Period.
Like The Exact Opposite Of Okay this book is filled with humor, even though the story itself touches multiple topics that aren't to be made fun of. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Laura Steven is a genius and an inspiration to us all.

So in high school I was pretty nerdy. I didn’t mind and to be fair people didn’t make anything of it. It was at a time when being nerdy wasn’t considered the cook cache that it is nowadays. I worked in the library, I was slightly chubby and I had flaming red hair. I was – what some people would ironically call – a catch. The reason I am giving you this potted history is because if I had been told during my formative years that  I could take a pill that would make people be attracted to me then hell yes I would have done it. No questions asked.

This is the same for protagonist Caro Kerber-Murphy. She doesn’t feel like she compares to her two best friends who are interesting and beautiful. She fails to get noticed. If she were a colour it would be beige. Ecru at a push. When she finds an advert for a medically approved drug that can make people fall in love with you she jumps on it. Little does she realise that the consequences can be quite damaging.

I really enjoyed reading about Caro and her friends. I loved the inner turmoil that she goes through and how she really just wants to be noticed. I love how Steven used her back story to justify the way she was feeling without ramming it down the reader’s throats. Steven has shown in The Love Hypothesisand in her previous books how she trusts her readers to be able to understand things without spelling them out. As a reader, I appreciate that.
The Love Hypothesis also makes you remember just what falling in love for the first time feels like. It is a thoroughly enjoyable read and one that you can finish in one sitting.

Laura has done it again. This book is amazing. I loved the characters, the story and the brilliant way it explores consent. And I shipped the couple in this so hard.
