Clever and neat. Easy to read and understand, probably quite hard to apply in real life.

Just read it. It's not just about building web apps, but the way any software or design and creative team should work in a connected business.

Unfortunately feels a bit dated. These ideas are more mature and better fleshed our in their newer books.

It's written like a casual talk. You'd be just nodding your head until the end. Written from pure experience, it will give you practical advices and valuable points to consider, if not absorb.

Wow and huh. It was an easy reading book with amazing tricks, tips, and advice. If you working with software development it's essential to read this. The mindset, the workflow, the development and the support side is also well written. So you can start your own project with more stable fundamental than ever you think.
Sometimes I feel weird because these blog-style posts were too short and missed the full article.
Overall it´s is a great book and now i going and turn into life. Lets get real!

It read more like a bunch of blog posts. Some were really useful, others were dated and not as useful. However the concepts still rang through the entirety of the book and gave useful insight on the Basecamp way to solve problems and build web apps faster.

Can't complain, it's free. This is a quick read on product development and common-sense advice for the entire process. Many of the 'guidelines' could be refuted dependent on the circumstances. Not much new here and it's outdated in certain sections. (Would've skipped if I'd checked the publication date beforehand).

The book is elegant and beautiful in the simple and obvious insights it shares. It has no fuss. It doesn't delve into the rigour of most business writing. It's a perspective that you will want to agree with a lot. And at points you disagree, you will form a new more informed opinion.

In summary, the books preaches well. You can keep parts of the sermon and iterate to see what works for you.

A few years old now, but sill surprisingly relevant. I've been trying to apply a lot of the advice there as I'm working on the new version of user-agent.io and more generally in the work that I do both at IBM and Incline.
