I did like the ending of this book a lot. I have no issues with a slow burn & I adore enemies to lovers. But the first half of the book I was aggravated with them. Idk why. It was obvious he was trying & she was not. It’s a big miscommunication trope. Being prickly instead of talking like an adult & that annoys me. The plot is good though and I was able to overlook my annoyance with how sweet Declan is.

5 stars

"I'll give you anything you want - anything at all - so long as you give me a chance to make you as happy as you make me. A dog, a family, a home. I want it all. These are my terms and conditions, take it or leave it because I'm not open to negotiations."

Lauren Asher and Ana Huang write the best men I swear.

I haven't read the third but this is shaping up to the best in the trilogy. Their banter is great, their relationship growth was great. I do wish there was a little bit more relationship building towards the end but overall this was a five star read for me. Then again I am easily amused.

"Because there is nothing I want more than to turn a house into a home with you."
