no but i really do feel so bad for rowanstar??? like i always liked him as deputy to blackstar so to see him lose a hold of his clan and to see him have to
merge with skyclan
is just. a bit sad ! i think too many things happened all at once that made him question his ability to lead and once you lose the trust/loyalty of your clanmates -- especially shadowclan clanmates -- i guess it's hard to get back.

also, unrelated, but how come
bramblestar and squirrelflight were not mentioned at all during the thunderclan rockslide??? why was ivypool the one yowling instructions around camp

also also
rowanstar & tawnypelt not depicted reunited with thEIR DAUGHTER DAWNPELT is sending me into a rage

This book didn't hold my interest much, which makes sense, considering it's moving away from the intense drama of Darktail's rogues towards more subtle, political intrigue revolving around the newly introduced SkyClan. I feel like not a lot happened in this installment. Even the big journey went by so quickly, even though it's taken other cats months or nearly a year to cross the same distance. (Maybe the answer is that having directions helps shorten travel time, but I still found it difficult to suspend my disbelief and imagine that it was the same journey happening twice.)

Nevertheless, I'm excited to see where this story leads, especially since I find the interactions with Hawkwing, Violetshine, Twigpaw, and Finpaw to be very sweet and entertaining. This book might just be a natural lull in the overarching story, and I don't hold that against it too fiercely. Sometimes the calm before a storm is very refreshing!

ok ok I see you vision of shadows! I really like Twigpaw and Finpaw, what cuties! I’m kinda sad they had Ivypool settle for a mate but excited that HE (Fernsong) will stay in the nursery. finally a gender reverse. Tigerheart and Dovewing pissed me off, but it will probably be solved in his super edition. Mistystar and Rowanclaw also pissed me off. Most of the leaders are just being stupid rn. Needletail is slaying rn. Twigpaw and Violetshine make my heart hurt I love them. OK TREE LETS GO PERIODT. It was an ok book between the death of Darktail and what comes next.
