I love some of Jenny Han’s other books and really enjoy the show The Summer I Turned Pretty, but I didn’t really like this book all that much. Amazon changed a few key points in the adaptation to a tv show, so I was expecting certain things to happen that didn’t, so I thought the book was a little boring and Belly just seemed like a brat, I had a hard time rooting for her.

I watched the show before reading, and I have to say, I like the show more. I think the show took all the good parts of the book, and improved upon the bad or outdated parts. Basically, it modernized it. Which actually makes sense because they're created by the same person.

omg. i’m in love with jer. my team jeremiah heart can’t take the ending. first off, susannah! i love her. i’m soooo sad that she’s sick again. don’t get me wrong, i love con, but i feel like he’s kinda emo. jer is a golden retriever and i love him sm.

It wasn't perfect by any means. A very simple story. I disliked the protagonist STRONGLY. There were many comments that I didn't enjoy in the book. Poor writing choices. I mainly just read it to have something simple to read.
