I always wanted this sort of relationship. Grow up with some boys I've known my entire life and have one as the"one". Shoot throw in the beach house... HEAVEN!!!

Took me 50pgs to know (gladly) that Belly is not her real name. Saying it in my head as an official name was so odd. And kind of grossed me our. Character wise, she was a regular teenager, though pretty selfish and self-centered. I just glossed over that.

I have a soft spot for both boys. Jeremiah is fun, goofy, and caring. But I'll admit I enjoy broody, dark, quiet types. They just call out to something in me. So I'd probably sprung all over Conrad. Throw in athletic form and a guitar. Done deal. Lol

It was a pretty easy read. Read in a day. Kept me interested, though I wasn't in love nor did I feel a swoon. It was just a basic good read.

ok so apparently i’m not a huge fan of generic romance/ya novels. it needs to have an action, fantasy or dystopian element to it. i was just really upset with belly’s egocentric worldview this entire book. but she’s fifteen so what do you expect

i really enjoyed the setting though. it was so fun to read this on cape cod in the summer. big points for that. i am also a million percent team jeremiah (if jeremiah and conrad are the only options; i loved cam but he was too good for belly). so i might need to read the next ones in hopes that she moves on from conrad

this is my second time reading this book and wow, its a lot different then i remember.

its hard to root for belly in this book because she is so self-centered and mean. i get it that conrad was being an ass but SO WERE YOU BELLY. "your the most selfish person i have ever met conrad" AFTER YOU FOUND OUT HIS MOM HAND CANCER? FOR THE 2ND TIME?! NAH BELLY. NAH.

also literally justice for cam bro got ghosted and used.

En oikeen tiiä mitä sanoa koska mulla meni tää reviewin kirjottaminen vähän myöhäseks lol. Luin tän loppuun yli viikko sitten. Mut anyway to the review:tykkäsin tästä tosi paljon ja rakastin näitä kesäsiä viboja. Luin tän kahessa päivässä ja musta tuntuu että tää kirja autto mut ulos mun reading slumpista. Tykkäsin Bellysta hahmona koska jotenkin samaistuin tosi paljon. Useissa kohdissa o vähän cringenny jollekkin mitä Belly on miettinyt ja sit tajunnu et waittt..i think like this too. Samaistuin jotenkin siihen miten Belly on halunnut mukaan poikien porukkaan mut häntä ei päästetty. Tää koko tarina kuulosti tosi ihanalta sillee joo mäki haluun kesäks söpöön beach houseen hengaamaan mun ihastuksen kaa lmao. Anyway team Conrad xx

It's a beautiful story. A coming of age, first love, forever family kind of novel. Unique in its familiarity. I felt as if I was coming home to a place I had never been.

My heart was simultaneously filling and breaking, and begging for more. Not perfect, but oh so close.

Edit to add***

There are a lot of negative reviews on this book about Belly being immature, self-centred, and pointing out a number of her mistakes. Honestly, I think that's what makes it beautiful. I absolutely felt as if I was reading from a 15 year olds point of view. Who's world didn't revolve around themselves when they were 15? Who didn't make mistakes when they were 15? These things made the story believable.

A lovely book about growing up and first loves set at a beach house in a charming town. I thoroughly enjoyed this and it was lovely to feel so connected to a 16/17-year-old main character when I am not yet that old. Read it before you watch the show, please. Not only will it make more sense but I found it was so precious to be able to envision the entirety of the summer house and all the characters before watching it on screen. 4.5 stars!
