This was an interesting book. I don't know if I would say good. But it was interesting. Unique voice, unique setting and characters.
I didn't like how the end was just glossed over. I guess the link between Little and Mme. Toussauds needed to be established. Also, I went into this book blind, so the French Revolution was a great surprise.

DNF @ 4%
.
I know, I KNOW I have a problem with DNF-ing books way too quickly. But I know that if I couldn’t find time to read this, then it probably isn’t worth it. I’ll try again sometime soon to read this but for right now? absolutely not.

4,5 ⭐️

Apart from the intriguing story of Marie, I just fell in love with Carey’s writing and drawings. The book just has a overall bizarre (in the best way possible) description -since the characters interact so much with corpses and other rough aspects of life- and I just simply enjoyed it.

I don’t give it 5/5 stars because sometimes it was a liiiiitle dense, but it’s totally personal. The book itself is a masterpiece.

It actually reminded me a lot of Tim Burton’s aesthetic, which I adore.

Apart from that, by the end of the book I felt like I knew all the characters so well that I cared about them despite their dark side.

Totally recommended!
