The main character definitely had some grovelling to make up for his ways in the beginning but I loved that he redeemed himself.

I am so grateful for the second epilogue of this book and the little catch up with the much beloved characters.... I also am hopeful that we get continual sneak peaks in their lives with the new series "The Highlands" coming.

Tropes: childhood friends to enemies to lovers, Hollywood star hero, small town

I really enjoyed these two and their story! This was my first book by Samantha and it for sure won’t be my last. Monroe and Brodan have A LOT of tension, drama, hurt & oh it was a wild ride. While there are some things that you discover about this couple in previous books, I haven’t read those and was able to pick up their story without issues. I am looking forward to going back and reading the rest of this series!

Update: okay it’s getting fucking ridiculous. Every character in this series has been kidnapped, attempted to be murdered, or through some other unfathomable trauma. It’s getting unhinged.

This one’s pretty good. Childhood best friends. Mutual pining. Abusive ex. Trauma. Hollywood star and teacher. Jealousy. He tries to get better to win her back.

This might be my fav in the series. There's less drama caused by outer influences than the others in the series but there's still so much anger between the two main characters that it evens out.
