I like the separate smaller quests in this book. More side quests that reveal bits of pieces.

First of all, I was delighted the Great Salt Lake plays such a prominent role in this book. Love a Utah mention.

I once again wish this series had been out when I was younger, because it is 100% something my middle-school self would have loved. I really enjoyed the way this plot is moving forward. I do think this one could have been around 100 pages shorter. I just felt like some of the adventures could have been combined or skipped to get the plot moving a bit faster. But still very fun, and I probably wouldn't have minded it at all if I had read this at the intended reading age.

I had no time to read this book, which disappoints me, because I might have given it a higher rating. I really did enjoy it though and I'm excited to pick up the next one.

Percy Jackson and his friends continue to grow up while saving the world. Rick Riordan continues to use the same devices to tell their story. If you've stuck with the series this far, you're probably ok with that. "Mark of Athena" doesn't disappoint.

My thoughts about this book are easily summed up by how I feel about the characters.

Characters that can go die in a hole: Jason, Piper, Coach Hedge
Characters that I somewhat care about (but not that much): Hazel and Frank
Characters I like: Leo and Reyna
Characters I LOVE because the are FREAKIN' AMAZING: Percy and Annabeth

And that is all.
