Rick Riordan always writes clever, creative, funny, age-appropriate stories, and I’ve enjoyed all of them, but with this installment, I found myself growing bored. When the series first dropped, it was fresh and new, but it's starting to grow stale. The author established a formula--a good formula mind you, but a formula, nonetheless--and he’s played it out again and again. I think it might be fun to see someone as creative as Riordan tackle something other than demigods.

The Mark of Athena probably has to be my favorite so fair in the Heroes of Olympus series. As the action and leading up to the quest never was dull and all the information that you had received from Son of Neptune and The Lost Hero made more and more sense. The only issue I had with this book was the last few chapters seemed rushed or unfinished. I don't know if that was due to knowing that House of Hades is the next book so we are building and foreshadowing for that or what.

The first book in either of these series that did not have a happy ending... This may be preparing readers for what's to come... The heroes are not kids any more and the readers who grew up reading these books are not either, bad stuff happens, sometimes really bad stuff... I'm not saying this series will end with really bad stuff. This book also showed each hero actively dealing with their "fatal flaw" which was really cool to see. I can't wait to see what happens at the doors of death

Starting this book I knew I would be broken by the end as friends have told me. Rick made it to be so clenching at thoes moments that were very sentimental and serious. This book, even though it broke me was a great read after all.

Probably my least favorite in the series so far, but still a great book. The plot is really good but kind of drawn out, and the book is a bit long for how much that actually happens, but the amount of quotable stuff/ stuff I underlined SO made up for it.

I loved seeing everyone's dynamic together, and getting percabeth was just a gift sent from Heaven. THE PLOT TWIST AT THE END THO? NOT COOL RICK, NOT COOL. (jk im so excited for book 4)

uhm yeah overall I'd rate this 4.75⭐️ GO READ IT
