La marca d'Atena

A gut wrenching and heartwarming continuation of the Heroes of Olympus series!

I'll try not to give too much away, but the relationship between Percy and Annabeth is SO INTENSE right now, and I LOVE IT! It's full of turmoil and strife, but it's so .... real.

I am excited to see which couples will make it, which ones won't, and how Leo finds his true place, as he's anything but an outsider!

Absolutely worth having a copy of the whole series!

So... The Mark of Athena is the first book I finished in 2015. And this is definitely a satisfying read to start the year.

First, let's talk about the pacing. It starts of very fast paced, and then slows down a bit, and finally picking up pace again. I don't mind the pacing 'cause this book is all about introductions. The characters need time to adjust around each other. I loved how Rick Riordan incorporate the plot around the characters.

Besides, this book is more focused on Athena— we can see that from the title. So you should expect more brains than action.

The characters;
1) Percy, amazing as usual. You don't know how much I loved him. <3 <3 <3
2) Annabeth, she's the best at what she does. She deserves a standing ovation.
3) Leo: Poor him. He seemed to have some trouble getting along with the others. But, you have to admit how he get to keep his cool around the others, right? <3
4) Frank? He has been helpful all throughout the book. Good job, buddy. ;-)
5) Hazel... seemed a bit indecisive, in my opinion.
6) Piper; I honestly don't know what to think of her.
7) Jason; I hate to say this but he appeared useless all throughout this book. Like he wasn't trying his best like everybody else does.

I can't wait for the next one. This one ends very, very, very tragically. :'(

I think the Heroes of Olympus series definitely feels more grown up than the PJO series.

This book in particularly made me realize how much the characters have grown up.

I loved the characters and the POVS it showed. Annabeth, Leo, Piper and Percy are literally my top 4 favorite characters out of the 7.

I’m honestly surprised something so bad happened to the characters at the end. The wrongs always seem to right themselves but this! This will take us into the next book. Also I find Piper so annoying but oh well

got my percy and annabeth reunion but at what cost

I've said it once and I'll say it again, NO ONE will ever beat Percabeth. They are it. They win.
