This is a sweet fantasy novel that brought to mind Erin Morgenstern and Naomi Novik for me. Lyrically pretty prose, a delightful conflict, and an ending that didn't really satisfy me but didn't feel like a cop out either.

Second time reading this (on a different edition this time) and it was just as good as the first time. I forgot things, so some of the twists caught me off guard like the first time!

This book was very beautifully written, and I absolutely loved the last few chapters with Henry and Addie. I will say it dragged on quite a bit though, and I think it would've been great if it was like 100 pages shorter.
