I don't exactly know how I feel about this book. It's really sad and casually horrifying.

I kept hoping that Tommy and Kathy would run off and hide somewhere, get out of being donors. But they didn't. I kept hoping there would be some kind of takedown of the donation program, but there wasn't.

This book was really interesting, and for once I kind of guessed some of the twists/reveals ahead of time. I kept expecting the book to get suddenly more intense or sad, and though of course it was sad, I never came close to crying. It's almost like the mystery distracted me from how sad it was. But! Overall it was written well and it's a powerful book. Not sure I'd recommend it, but I definitely don't regret reading it.

It's very melancholy, not v hard into the scifi / medical aspects, irritatingly monologue prone, quite dreamy. Can get boring.
In a word, this book can be described as staid. Not necessarily in a bad way. It's almost autobiographical. No rating as I didn't connect with the book, but it's well written and would be appreciated by others.
