Really well written and organized, and great to read - definitely a collection of essays about the WORST things that have ever happened to this person, big CW for child abuse, child acting abuse, miscarriage, SA, and more

I am five years older than Sarah Polley, but I'm not sure I live with even half the grace that she exhibits in this book.

Loved it. I was a big fan of both “Away From Her” and “The Sweet Hereafter” and when I heard Polley was coming to talk in Vancouver I bought a copy of this book. Generous, smart, funny, poignant. Looking forward to the event.

Such a relatable book. Sarah inspired me to embrace my past traumas and learn from them. At the end I was encouraged to run towards the danger.

“I know now that I will become weaker at what I avoid, that what I run towards will strengthen in me.”

I read this book in less than 48 hours, despite all the other things I was supposed to be doing. I couldn't put it down. I had terrible nightmares after reading the chapter about Jian Ghomeshi right before bed, but I couldn't stop myself from reading this book. Polley is an amazing writer and I'm so happy for her that she is finally experiencing the kind of life that she wants to experience.

This was an interesting book. So sorry that much of Sarah’s life was filled with one health trauma after another!
