Tense, fast-paced, and completely addicting. I was crying at the end though.
Tom Imura is the most awesome bad-ass character I've ever known. Part of me doesn't want to read anymore, but I know I have to or it'll drive me crazy. Part of me also wishes they'd make it a movie but I know when that happens they usually ruins it.
i don't know how I can write this review without giving tons of stuff away...even if I used spoiler alerts.
Suffice to say, I love this series, can't wait for the third installment and I don't care if people think I'm weird or it turns out that Jonathan Maberry is an awful writer or that the story is predictable or any of the other things I've read in some reviews. This story grabbed a hold of me and did. NOT. LET. GO.
Maberry is in line with Stephen King and that, from me, is HUGE!

Another fabulous zombie book by Maberry. He did spend quite a bit of time recapping Rot & Ruin, and it almost seemed as if he wanted this to be able to stand alone. Lots of deep background about other characters. He poses some good existential questions like - how much do you want to risk to try to be free? Is it bad to want to just feel safe, and not try for something other than that?
I can't wait to read #3. And I love the zombie cards on the inside covers.

I finished this book in February I have not stopped thinking about it.
