I was genuinely surprised at how much I enjoyed this book.
It's very short, but somehow has a more interesting and believable plot than Twilight itself. I wish the series had been about Bree instead. Or, at least, that this book was longer. There's so much that could have been done with this story, especially if Bree had survived.
Forget Edward and Jacob, I'm Team Bree.

3 1/2 stars, actually.
This was a short, fun little glimpse inside the world of the "non-vegetarian" vampire newborns who fought the Cullen clan in the main series. It made me want to go back and re-read Eclipse.
For readers' advisors: story and character doorways

This had more plot packed into 200 pages than all the twilight books so far. It was interesting to see how the seattle vampires viewed the cullens + bella and the ending was just a shame.

A fun addition to the Twiligjt world, recommended if you liked Twilight. Meyer did a good job of keeping to the outline of the story she had already created and still made an interesting story despite the restraints.

Honestly, way better than I thought it'd be.
If Bree had been the main character of the Twilight saga, and if the series had followed this plot, only longer so things weren't so rushed, Twilight could have been legitimately good. There are deeper thoughts here, and darker themes, that made things feel more real and gritty. I enjoyed Bree's character immensely, and genuinely liked Diego. Riley was interesting too, and I appreciated his dynamic with all the other characters. It felt very much like a slightly better version of The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black. My only problem with this was how rushed it was, being a novella. Diego and Bree didn't have ample time to form a believable and realistic romantic bond, but their friendship felt real. Really shows how Stephenie Meyer can be pretty good when she tries.

This was my first time reading this novella, and I enjoyed getting to see a different POV.
