Absolutely loved this book! Jameson is a bit of a nerdy professor who doesn’t believe in love and Lily-Marie believes in the stuff fairy tales are made of. Lily-Marie is so down to earth and could be any one of us with stretch marks, cellulite and real life dating problems. Throw in a 1950’s article about finding a wife/husband and 3 kids and you have one of the funniest laugh out loud books I’ve read this year. Seriously don’t try to read this while eating or drinking as it may result in choking due to laughing!

Cute & Sweet & Fun

This book overall was very fun to read. They each had some hang ups about love and it’s worth in their life.

They were strangers to friendly to more pretty quickly. It works out well for them in the end as they each helped each other see some things about themselves.

The twist about the grandmother was fun! The whole big date night he planned was so sweet!

My only complaint really is that he was Pershing her and trying to give her what she wanted and yet she kept pushing him away saying she needed to find love. Her introspection was a little annoying.

I loved the ending and the set up for Gaby’s book. Sucks that her relationship had to implode so badly

The one with Lily-Marie, single Mom, sick of dating apps, she decides to use a 1950's 'how to find a husband' list to meet men. And Jameson, single Dad, who doesn't believe in Love, decides to use a similar 'how to find a wife' list to ... prove love doesn't exist? I get Lily-Marie's side of this, but how Jameson intends to prove love doesn't exist doesn't really makes sense, and he's a scientist. Anyway, it obviously doesn't work. The things he attempts on his list, make Jameson more interested in Lily-Marie, and Lily-Marie tries her list on everyone but Jameson, but someone still gets tangled up with him on each try. Lily-Marie, rightly so, doesn't want to get involved with her neighbor and kids's friends Dad because it would be super awkward if/when things don't work out. There were some cute, laugh-out-loud awkward moments.

This book is a great laugh. Single parents need to have some fun, too, sometimes. I loved how Lily-Marie and Jameson's kids liked hanging out, it gave them more than enough reason to be near each other. Definitely a quick, one-sitting kind of read. The chemistry between them was great. Marika Ray is a new author to me. Really glad I read this book. Highly recommend for anyone needing a good laugh.

Wow! This was a new to me author. It was a great way to be introduced to Marika Ray! Very cute Rom-com story about a single mom AND a single dad. Being next door neighbors makes things a little bit dicey, but also makes it a lot more amusing. The cuteness level of this story is off the charts. I think I read at least 75% of this book with a huge goofy grin on my face. The ending of the book is a lead in to the next book being about the best friend, Gabby. She was such a comical force that I am quite excited to see what she gets herself up to. So if you are looking for an un-angst book, one that will make you swoon, grin and laugh..... this is the book to grab. It is totally worth all 5 sweep-me-off-my-feet stars!

This book was great. It had me laughing until I cried in some parts! There were a few cringe worthy parts but not enough to drop it to four stars. I really enjoyed it and will likely read it again at some stage.
