This is Adriana Locke at her best

Oh my goodness Crave broke me into a thousand tiny pieces, patched them together then broke me again. Thankfully, by the end, it did leave me whole but it took me on one huge and emotional journey in the meanwhile. I cried an absolute river over Hadley and Machlan.

This is a second chance story that really brought something new to the genre. It's also a good job Machlan was such a wonderful, caring and loving guy because boy did he deserve a good shake at times! However I think I fell in love with him as much as Hadley, so just like her I forgave him his stupidity.

There was a very, very tiny moment when I thought the story line was about to become a little repetitive (I stress 'about' not 'did'). How wrong I was because BAM! Ms Locke threw an absolute firecracker of a secret into the story. I'd suspected a little of what the secret was, but the entire truth was so much bigger, so much more heartbreaking and so much more 'more' than I would ever have been able to guess at. And yes it was one of the many 'I need a box of tissues' moments that this book contained.

Hadley and Machlan are just everyday people. I love that they aren't super beautiful, super rich, super successful and therefore super unbelievable. No Hadley and Machlan are characters you can not only understand and get behind, but who you become totally invested in. This pair have entwined themselves in my heart and I don't see them leaving there any time soon.

The story is special, amazing and wonderful and was one I didn't want to put down. It was also great fun to see more of Peck, as well as catching up with Walker, Lachlan and Nana. There aren't many books that, once I've finished, I want to read again but this is up there on that very exclusive list. Crave is a fantastic read and one I really, really do recommend.

Machlan and Hadley, have a second chance at love. Or will they get one? When Hadley comes back to town, her sole mission it to give some closure to her relationship with Machlan. She needs to get over him so she can go on with her life. But Machlan has other plans. When he sees her come into Crave, all the feelings he has for her come back full force. With his commitment issues front and center things can only go one way. Or can they? There is something about this couple that crawled into my heart. I love that they have history, and it's not all simple and easy. Their secret is big and their pain shared. It's evident their love for each other, but with their past, it's hard to find the new normal, and help Machlan gain the confidence he needs in himself. With good advice from the Gibson boys, and especially their grandmother, for both Hadley and Machlan, we get to see how they navigate their past to find their future. It's truly a wonderful story, and Adriana Locke has another winner.

Narrated by Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott, I fell into the story with ease. They are the Gibson family, their familiar voices making me feel at home. Each brings their own talents giving the characters such personality, it's like we know them. I love their narrations.

Machlan and Hadley have loved each other forever. They have been through so much, so young, and it made my heart hurt to watch them try and find a place for painful decisions made in youth. I love these Gibson boys.

I am so beyond addicted to this series! I can not wait to listen to Crazy and get Peck's story. I'm telling you right now, Adriana, it better be with Navy and not ol' whore pants Molly! Just saying.

Hadley and Machlan's story was perfect! I wish there wasn't as much back and forth between the two of them, but I think that's because they had such a long history together! I loved getting to know more about these two characters and their old history together. These two have been through a LOT together and I loved their story. They truly were meant to be together!!

Sweet, emotional, second-chance romance.

Like the series, but Hadley and Machlan's story in Crave wasn't my favorite. Machlan is rather infuriating, and the vibe is too angsty overall for my taste. There's so much build-up and back-and-forth but not enough story after the denouement, and I was left wanting more.

Love characters from the previous books making appearances, and want more Nana and Peck! I really hope things work out for him when his book comes along.

This was good, but I definitely feel like something was missing. It's kind of like you were expected to already know all the details of their history together. Based on the tidbits they gave us in conversation, there is a lot you needed to know. I wish their history had been expanded on when it was really just kind of touched on or not explained any further.
SpoilerSuch as..her marriage proposal? When exactly they got together and broke up?
It was just lacking in details I think.

I can honestly say 5 starts are not enough for this book. I thought I loved the series before but with this book it take the series to a new level. Adriana Locke has a way to make the reader feel everything that the characters feel. Throughout this book, Hadley and Machlan went through hell and back and with every step I was right there with them laughing out loud, crying heart wrenching tears and sighing with utter joy. This was one of those books that you never wanted it to end and could very well walk side by side with these characters for many years to come. A beautiful story with an override of emotions that you cannot do without!!

Holy cow, this book is everything! Adriana Locke has done it. Again!

Machlan is the youngest of the Gibson boys. He owns a bar and seems to have it all together. Hadley had a difficult childhood. Her mom died when she was younger and she had to go live with her dad and brother (Cross, who has his own book). Machlan and Hadley had dated for a while when they were younger, but life events (oh. my. god!), including Machlan owning a bar, pulled them apart.

Hadley came back to Linton with the intention of trying to finally find a (figurative) box that she could put Machlan in. One where they could be near each other and not end up arguing, which is typical for them. But it's tough to put someone in a box when the chemistry is as hot as it is between Hadley and Machlan!

I know I tend to gravitate toward books that have a lot of emotion. Those tend to be the ones that stay with me for the long haul. I went into reading Crave not expecting the level of emotion that I got. And I craved it more than I realized!

Adriana Locke has hit the jackpot with Crave! It has all the typical elements of her small-town books- a large boisterous, crazy, and loving family; friends who are more like family; a lot of smack-talk and jesting between the characters; love and all the feels. But this one really resonated with me above and beyond those things. And that is what makes a book memorable for me. I laughed. I cried. I had to walk away at times to get myself together.

As with all of Adriana Locke's books, this is another that I will reread. i and highly recommend it for others, as well!

Machlan and Hadley

“I shove two orange segments into my mouth, so I can’t say anything stupid because she’s about to. I can see it on her face.”

Loved it!! This is my favorite of the series behind Walker and Slugger. Can not wait for Peck! I just hope Locke redeems Molly’s character even though im rooting for Navie or maybe even Emily. Emily wants babies with Peck and that would make Nana happy...lolololol
