There is so much to say about this story but most of it has already been said in prior reviews by other readers so I’ll try and not repeat what has already been said. I love this book the best out of all the prior books in the Gibson boys series. Adriana Locke has shown me once again what a fantastic writer she is by starting you off with a somewhat predictable self explanatory story about Hadley coming to terms with her feelings about Machlan and finally putting an end to her emotional rollercoaster of a journey with her feelings. But just as she is trying to put it all behind her she still can’t seem to put her and Machlan’s past behind her and move on. Then one afternoon on a rainy day and a trip to Bluebird does our story starts to twist and Adriana Locke’s talent with words starts to take you in a different direction and from there the story gets even better and you can’t help but feel for these two people and you begin to understand the dynamic of the history of these two people as this is their second chance story.
You can’t help but to fall in love with these two characters and there were a couple moments in this story that I wanted to just knock some sense into Machlan and Hadley because you are left with the feeling of walking on eggshells. There are also the other Gibson boys and Peck and Cross that make appearances and some of Sienna Landry’s family make a surprise appearance and once again the Author works her magic to include the Landry’s in this story. I really enjoyed this story I plan to reread it again. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this story and I am Voluntarily leaving my own honest review of this book.

My God I love this freaking series!!!

Every time I read a book in this series I think to myself " this is the best one!" And then Adriana releases a new one and the cycle begins. Although Peck holds my heart with his loveable, goofy personality (cant wait for his book) Machlan surprised the shit out of me. I always found him to be broody at times through out the previous books and I couldnt wait to get his backstory.

This story slayed me and gave me all the feels! I havent cried so much while reading in a very long time. The ups and downs Machlan and Hadley had to face were so realistic and relateable that it made my heart hurt for the both of them.

I love Nana and the entire Gibson fam and I hope this series never ends! Unrealistic. I know! But hey, a girl can dream. Right?

Machlan Machlan Machlan...

This book, had me in tears! TEARS - the ugly kind. Loads of snot and tissues.
Lets start with Hadley, talk about brave, a woman with an undying and unrequited love for a man who thinks he isnt good enough for her. Every single bit of heartache she felt, I felt.

Machlan, sexy angry steamy machlan. He had me so furious in this book! So stinking stubborn, come on man. Friggin go after the girl already will ya?

Forewarning, the last few sentences of chapter 17, are going to kill you. Gut wrenching, heart clenching, tear jerking sadness. I dont know that I've ever read a book that made me feel that depth of pain before.

And last but not least, my favorite Gibson boy - Peck! I still am so in love with Peck. He may be one of the BEST additional characters I've ever read, and I'm Dying to read his book when it comes out. I absolutely love his friendships with all of the women in these books, the way he watches out for them as if hes there big brother, gah I just love him. But so help me God if he ends up with Molly, I'll die.

Adriana Locke, you've mastered yet another couple, another romance, another book. You amaze me, thank you. That is all.

This one was just exhausting to read. Machlan spent 99% of the book acting like a hot-and-cold, overbearing douche (Also, I'm sorry, but there is nothing remotely attractive about a character who is often depicted with a can of chewing tobacco. I grew up with a grandfather who used the stuff and it's absolutely disgusting.). Hadley doesn't live up to the assessment of those around her who claims she's strong and independent. The chemistry between the two isn't really believable and I wasn't left with the sense that they actually loved each other. It felt more like toxic codependency. I thought the first two brothers were frustrating, but Machlan might as well have said, "Hold my beer," in this installment of the series, because the frustration was at all new levels. I contemplated not finishing it, but I eventually made it.

I love series that follow families, because I have a big family so I tend to relate to it. In this case, this is the third book in the series and I haven't read the others, so some things were a bit outside of my understanding, but that doesn't mean it was the book's fault, I'm the one that haven't read the other books yet. Anyway, now that I have read this one I'm curious to know more about the other Gibson Boys and the all storyline of the series, previous to this book.

That been said, I still loved the book. I loved that this is a second chance romance story, because I always have a soft spot for them. Especially when they are well done. And this book was a passionate novel, lot's of drama and problems that needed to be solved, so that kept me wondering and cheering for the characters, but despite that it still had emotion and it truly captivated my attention.

Since it was a second chance story, we get to unfold the past as we read the book and the development of the love story was much more enjoyable because I really wanted them to be happy. And as a romantic, I like to believe that sometimes love survives time and pain.

The characters were fun to get to met. Machlan (great name, by the way) was an intriguing character to me. He hold Hadley at arms length even despite his love for her, and that made me wonder what was really going on. As I got to read more about him and started to understand him more, even thought I didn't agree with him sometimes. Then there is Hadley, a courageous, fun, strong, beautiful and intelligent woman that really loves with all her heart.

Reading about their struggles, the relationship developing and all the sweet or even the sexy moments made me enjoy the book, and those are just some of the reasons I recommend this book. But if you haven't read the other books in the series, go get them. If they are as good as this one, then you are going to love the series. Plus... Who doesn't love to read about handsome brothers and their loved ones?

[Received an ARC in return for my honest review of the book.]
